RIDARIDA stands for “Required Initiatives for Daughter’s Access”. Under this program TNW takes need based initiatives for the girls with provision of educational, vocational and health related facilities at their door step. Before taking the initiative, TNW conduct a need assessment surveys and set priorities for the girl’s social needs in the target areas. In the next step, a comprehensive, well planned and integrated approach and activities are designed with the valuable inputs from concerned local stakeholders.

RIDA Mahnisyal; a case study
Mahnisyal is a village between Khanewal and Multan with population over 50000 with surrounded settlements included. SSC/Matriculation education was available to the girls there and after completing matriculation only a few affording families could send their daughters to the nearby cities for getting higher education while poor girls used to sit at home although having talent and hope in their mind. Feeling the need, TNW with participation of local stakeholders took an important initiative and established RIDA centre to provide these daughters an opportunity to continue their educational journey in their access with quality and affordability.

At present over 100 girls students are getting education above matriculation level with TNW contribution. Some of these students are those who have restarted their education being terminated the process after completing 10th class few years back due to unavailability of local facility and resources to move to nearby cities for this purpose.

Services at RIDA Mahnisyal includes: –

  • Regular classes under qualified female teachers
  • Well equipped ICT lab
  • Facilitation during exams
  • Extracurricular activities/visits for learning
  • Life skills and awareness sessions

Library In recent intermediate and graduation examinations RIDA students secured remarkable positions at district and tehsil level. TNW managed a grand prize distribution ceremony to acknowledge the efforts of teachers & management and encourage the students. TNW interventions have crossed another milestone with provision of health & hygiene and environment awareness sessions to these students enabling them to disseminate this valuable information to their respective communities.
