Nonprofit Leadership & Management Workshop

28 senior officials of 20 organizations successfully completed the four days training workshop jointly organized by The NGO World (INGOLAM) and SESRIC (OIC)

The NGO World (TNW) Pakistan on platform of “Institute of NGO Leadership And Management (INGOLAM) organized a 04 days training workshop “Effective Leadership & Management for Development Organizations” in Islamabad from 2nd May 2017 to 5th May 2017.

The need for this training was identified through TNW’s experience in implementing capacity and networking building programs. The need for organizing a workshop on “Effective Leadership & Management for Development Organizations” was further reinforced when TNW’s coordinator received a very positive response from its partner organizations to attend the training workshop. It also showed that there is a continuing need for capacity building in NGOs throughout Pakistan, even in organizations identified as lead change agents. To fill the leadership & management gaps of NGOs, a four-day residential workshop on “Effective Leadership & Management for Development Organizations” was conducted from 2nd May 2017 to 5th May 2017 at Islamabad. A total of 28 working professionals from 20 different NPOs/CSOs /CBOs benefited from the workshop.

The workshop helped the participants in broadening their horizons and helping them attainsmooth transition to a bigger scale organization. The major focus of the workshop was on leadership roles & strategic planning, managing programs, relationships withstakeholders, team building,resource mobilization & sustainability, support functions and managing human and financial resources, as well asother relevant topics. The workshop enabled NGO’s leaders to learn theiractual role and to improve managerial and structural areas of theirorganization. The purpose of the training workshop was toprovide all participants with practical knowledge, skills, methods and tools that they could applyin the transformation of their own organizations. The training workshop also provided an excellent opportunity to foster networkingbetween participants and exchange of experiences and approaches.

The program gave participants the skills necessary to respond to the complex challenges and opportunities facing their organizations and communities. Designed as an experiential leadership lab, this program provided a stimulating and supportive climate for exploring the pressing issues facing current and future nonprofit leaders.

The training workshop was supported by, The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), a subsidiary organ of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Introduction:

“The NGO World” offers internship opportunities to PAKISTAN YOUTH (PATH) including students of different fields who will be completing their studies in near future or have recently graduated and looking for job opportunities.  Program offers a wide range of opportunities for interns to gain insight in the administrative and social & development programs of TNW and partner organizations.

Objective:

The objective of offering internship is to prepare the PAKISTAN YOUTH (PATH) for competitive job market while strengthening their technical, professional and career development skills.

Limitations: minimum 20 years of age and at least 16 years of education.

Duration: The minimum duration of internship is 12 weeks, extendable up to 24 weeks maximum based on location, organizational and professional needs. Candidates who may perform well may transition to long term full time contractual job at TNW or partner organizations if available.

 

General Coaching:

In addition to learning through these on-the-job training activities, the interns will also be offered classroom training/coaching sessions to help them improve their own skills to better prepare as future professionals.  Classes / coaching sessions may include various skills like, CV /Resume writing, Interview Techniques, Basic Computer skills, Communication skills, Leadership, Team Work and Project Management.

Experience you need:

No previous experience required- we are looking for flexible and motivated people who are able to work with limited support. Candidates will be interviewed to judge their suitability for the role.

  • You are invited to complete an Application form for internship. This questionnaire includes providing details about your education and experience. You will also be able to indicate the area of work within TNW that you are hoping to intern.
  • You will also be asked to write about your motivation for applying for a TNW Internship.
  • After evaluation of your application an invitation letter will be sent to the selected interns.

 

3 Days Training on Youth Social Entrepreneurship

The NGO World under its prohect” Institute of NGO Leadership & Management”(INGOL&M) successfully completed three days training on Youth Social Entrepreneurship (Jan 30_Feb 01) in District Rawalpindi. 22 participants learned about the concept and were enabled to create innovative ideas of establishing Social Enterprises. On third day they presented the solutions to the identified problems of their respective communities.

The NGO World training team was quiet satisfied with the outcomes of three days because we find couple of youth projects which have powerful idea behind them and can be an intevention of changing lives of target groups of people by extending little support and guidance. Youth Social Entrepreneurship Workshops is a continuous program of the INGOL&M of youth engagement in positive, constructive and productive activities. Hidden potential of youth is explored, refined and directed to bring valuable change in society.

The NGO World reorganizes Early Child Care Education Centers

“The NGO World Foundation” reorganizes the two Early Child Care Education (ECCE) centers & a vocational center for rural women of Shahdra khurd near Islamabad.

As iinitial step books, bags, stationary, toys, balloons, reading & writing material are handed over to kids at ECCE centers.

These centers were established by a foreign NGO couple of years ago. Now these centers are handed over to The NGO World.

November 17, 2015: The NGO World handed over 05 sewing machines as a gift to Rise Foundation Rawalpindi. Col. Abuzer (founder) received with thanks. Before this TNW team visited their vocational center and Jhuggi school about 06 months ago and Col. Abuzer requested support in this regard.

ZEST School Opening Ceremony

January 07, 2015: The NGO World Foundation inaugurated first ZEST School in Basti Chawan, Tehsil Kabirwala, District Khanewal as a part of ZEST project. Community members appreciated the initiative in their area by practically participating in the event and praising the effort of The NGO World Foundation. Mr. Muhammad Arshad – Manager Operations briefed the community members and teacher about the concept and operation of ZEST Schools. 35 Children (age of 7-11) got admission in the school and will complete their primary education within 03 years.

Before starting opening schools, ZEST trainer delivers training to selected teachers. Training was managed by using local available resources and following principles of simplicity.

The NGO World (TNW) has taken initiative to open ZEST Schools (non formal) under ZEST project. In this initiative young boys and girls (age 7-11 yrs who are out of school due to different reasons) are identified to provide them education up to primary level within duration of three years . After completion of primary they will be sent to main stream schools from grade six. During the 03 years students complete the lessons of govt. syllabus along with different activities for their awareness raising and leadership skills.

Initially these low cost schools are being opened with support of local philanthropists on certain locations of district khanewal. ZEST team will be looking for support from more and more donors/philanthropists to expand its circle in two districts of Punjab i-e Khanewal and Jhang during 2015.

Annual awards for RIDA achievers

RIDA Education:27th SEP 2014:
Annual awards distribution held at RIDA Mahnisyal Khanewal. The NGO World delivered awards and prizes among, students who showed exceptional results in their examinations, best teachers’ award and other contributors. Honorable guests, parents and educationists appreciated the achievements of the RIDA management, teachers and students.
Social worker & educationist Mrs. Nighat Mughal presented the gifts among hardworking teachers on their best performance.
Member Parliament (Punjab) Mr. Nishat Ahmad Khan participated the event as chief guest. He presented award to Naila Qadeer on showing top result in ICS. He also appreciated and acknowledged the efforts of RIDA team on solving the most urgent issue of the area and provision of affordable quality educational that was missing for the daughters.
Mr. Zafar Iqbal (Founder The NGO World ) presented welcome note for the guests and brief them about the concept of RIDA project.
